Richard Scudamore has said there are no plans to televise matches at 3pm despite the growing number of supporters watching games via online streams.

Scudamore told 5 live: "The vast majority of 11-a-side football is played on a Saturday afternoon, you’ve got all the Football League games, they can’t all be displaced. We would be impacting on that.”

It's not about "being arsed", it's about keeping people going to games.

There is a wide assumption (which is probably valid) that if you showed Liverpool - United at 3pm on a Saturday to be on TV, attendance at lower league games would be significantly impacted.

Think the best way to do it would for it to be payable on a specific club basis i.e. if I'm a palace fan I can pay £x a year to stream all Palace games, including 3pm KO. Allows fans to watch away games on a decent quality streams but may prevents a free for all on 3pm kicks offs and significant impact on lower league attendances.

This is how they do it in the US; don't know whether it's still the same, but 3-4 years ago it was $5 a month to stream any NFL game from the last 30 days, with two cuts; the full game and a featured highlights version.

I mean... come on. What do we get? A package which needs two upgrades to watch a match we don't care about.
