I've been critical of mcarthur, and wanted to sell him numerous times throughout the summer but he finally looks like he recovered from the back spasms that hindered him under bid Sam. 2 fantastic strikes yesterday and would love to see him alongside a midfield of RLC and cabaye. I'm sorry but puncheon was poor again. Side note the Ipswich town fans were a real credit, sung throughout the whole match. Positive going into a massive game against Swansea. Coyp

From about ten minutes onwards last night I was raving about how good Jimmy Mac looked and how it was the JMc of old. A great thing to behold and I can only echo what's been said.

I also thought he was trying to help Lokilo get some confidence after we wentba goal up, giving him the ball a couple of times when he could've gone on himself. No complaints.

Yeah one of our scored a hatrick for scumwall. No goals in 15 months definitely not good enough.

I don't want to cast him off entirely but he shouldn't be a guaranteed starter. I have no issue seeing him in a Palace shirt but he needs to be made to fight for it. And to be fair, a pissed off Punch with a point to prove is quite often a much better Punch.

Ain't that the truth. We were only saying this at the weekend - he's not fighting like he did before & we couldn't fathom whether that's because he's not having to compete for a place or he's just lost that edge he had.

Seems to slow the game down rather than drive it forward like he used to.

Which is why we nearly won that cup final, of course.

He's definitely too comfortable and complacent. If we aren't selling him we've got enough form players now in that part of the park now that the heavy team are fit again to oust him from the starting lineup. Cabaye, McArthur, Loftus-Cheek.

Fair play to you for holding your hands up and admitting you wanted him sold. Me and you had quite a few arguments about it over the summer but not many posters would admit they were wrong.

Far more would do a Sg Bilko and disappear.

Agree re. Punch 100%

Agree on all and I was the same as Coulsdon.

But how much will Parish accept for Jimmy then?

Personally, I think Punch is playing way too deep. He could for me play at the top of a diamond or just behind tekkers in no way is he a holding midfielder, neither is Cabaye, the only players who should be near that role are Luka, RLC and as a last option Jimmy Mac.

I would however try to have Punch in the wing back position just to see if since he has gone to a deeper defensive role, he can be useful there in both defence and attack.

I'd try (when fit) and in the league cup 3-5-2

WH/ Speroni

Ward/ Kelly Dann/Tomkins Jairo/Papa

Jimmy Mac Luka RLC

Puncheon/Cabaye

Andros/ Lokilo Wilf/kaikai

Tekkers

It is still a bit square peggish but we are left with a massive gap from our centre midfielders to tekkers, teams find it too easy to defend against us knowing we will most likely utilise the wings. Having a Beardslyesq player in the hole would in my opinion bring the attack together a bit and allow us to play as Every single player in that attack can pass the ball very well.
