On Reflection since Big Sam Left

It's been a crazy week but what else do you expect when your a palace fan.

When I look back to the appointment of FDB I have to admit I wasn't 100% comfortable with the appointment as it's such a big culture shock. My feelings is that Steve Parish also shared the same feelings and as the results went on the more and more he realised he had made a mistake.

I do feel sorry for frank as we did look creative on Sunday however I do believe this was because we played 4 at the back. I do feel frank only played 4 at the back due to the pressure coming from other areas. I thought he may get 1 more game.

In regards to Hodgson he used to be my dads old p.e teacher at monks hill. I am again not 100% sure on this one. However I feel the 2 mistake were Frank went wrong was the way he played took beneteke out of the game hence why he has only had 2 shots on target this season. I feel Roy will play to are strength. One other huge reason for me is what happened to Luka under FDB he looked like a different player to last season. Hopefully Roy can get him back to his best that will sure up the defensive.

I do feel that Parish has been abit tight though in regards to appointing Roy as he was free rather than paying compo for someone else. I am sure the fact he has paid Frank 2 mil for 77 days has something to do with that's.

Let's hope it all goes well. Up the palace

I've not seen it myself Mr H, but that's what the Times is reporting apparently. (not saying that makes it true but that's where it seems to be coming from)

Love it. I go and knock my pan in for forty hours a week to eke out a living and he gets £2m for two months of being an arsehole. Obviously I'm in the wrong business.

I find it odd that you seem to look on this as a negative where as although not thrilled by Roy's appointment, my first reaction was well at least we didn't have to pay any compensation for him and he'll probably be on lower wages as he is desperate to get back into management. Weird how different people have different takes on certain situations. Time to get behind the boys. COYP

we have absolutely no plan for a longterm solution or paying a release fee for a bigger/better manager - that would take months and deem us rudderless and condemn us to the Championship no doubt. Our board is only capable of planning for the year ahead, getting to the end of the season. And then planning again for the next season.

What would now be the ideal is tobring a young guy in to shadow Roy so that there is a aeemless transition when Roy packs it in. It's time to stop firing managers now , even if it means we go down. Start looking further down the road.

Don't agree with you. I don't think anyone could have foreseen the way Pulis and then Alardyce left us. I agree that the board should have a better grasp of both player and manager targets but they cannot really plan for who will be available at the time an appointment is needed.

Yes the ground improvements haven't really happened but again who could predict how the planning process would go.

We'd all like to be doing better in all aspects of the club but we have achieved a historical 5th year in the top flight and no other board has achieved that.

You let them off too lightly. They don't research players available they know they'll need in 4 to 9 to 12 months. I bet they've no bl00dy idea or intention to start researching who's going to replace Cabaye, Jimmy, cheek, Mensah or others when several or all of them are gone next summer.

We know Roy isn't long term so there isn't any excuse to start doing some research here and there. If when the time comes others are available? So what? Could be better. Do you think other businesses or Southampton sit there and hold off because available people or factors change? Do they fvck. We need an experienced person running football matters. Not parish, freedman, brighty or any other former player.

If the powers that be are not doing just that then they are not doing their jobs. Mistakes have been made learn from them because it looks like so far we are learning nothing from lots of mistakes.
