On Sky the Debate currently. Can't believe how many people are all of a sudden making him out to be some sort of footballing philosopher. For me he just waffles, talks in riddles and comes across as a complete narcissist.

I've had my fair share of complaints for Parish recently but watching this guy go on in the way he does does make you wonder.

He and Pardew both seem to think they have a greater grasp of the English language than they actually do. Results in some very bizarre speech patterns.

The thing that surprises me with Pardew, and I really was not a fan of him at all, is that since he's left the club he's actually come across as quite a knowledgeable and level headed guy in punditry. Polar opposite of when he was a manager.

Have thought Jordan was a tit for the last 17 years.

Ignoring the posts which clearly deserve to be ignored (if not censured), it’s surely ironic that the man who brought our club to the brink of extinction should now be a commentator on its activities. Yes, he’s a fan and he pumped a lot of money into the club he supported, but if it hadn’t been for the Consortium he might very well have been the man who consigned the memory of Crystal Palace FC to the history books.
He is opinionated and some of his opinions were and are worth expressing, but how he can have the brass neck to criticise the regime that succeeded the mess that his regime left behind is beyond me.
You only have to read his autobiography to realise that he was a self-professed wide boy and his wealth came from a lucky break rather than a sound and sustained business career.
Now I’m not knocking this, as it’s more than I’ll ever achieve. If I had the wealth, of course I’d be looking to see how I could support our club. Similarly, Steve Parish has achieved far more than I could ever hope to achieve. He’s also invested big time in our football club – and to such a great effect. He’s a committed fan – unlike the foreign investors who’ve backed so many other clubs in the premier league. Do we really want to be a Chinese, Russian or Saudi plaything?
As Simon Jordan said in his autobiography’s title – “Be careful what you wish for “.

I was only thinking this the other day, when Sky wheeled him out, to be the voice of reason on transfer deadline day. Since when had he been this font of knowledge regarding all football matters??

I think he talks sense which is a lot more that can be said about others on this board. He made huge mistakes at palace which he admits to and I'm sure he will have learnt from them.

I don't see any problem with him being opiniated, he has a good insight in to the running of a football club. An insight we don't have.

It can't be all luck, he has some sort of business acumen. Nobody gets that sucessful unless their wealth is inherited or the result of a lottery win.

I'd rather listen to someone with his experience as opposed to people who think they could do better job.

I watched The Debate last night for the first time ever and was quite impressed by what Simon Jordan had to say. I know that it's official HOL policy to moan about him and decry anything he says and does but he talked a lot of sense.

I'm guessing that the people on here moaning about him weren't actually watching otherwise they would have mentioned the fact that one of the topics that were being discussed was whether football club chairmen should be buddy buddy with the players and allowing them to have his ear to moan about the manager and he was in the "definitely not" school of thought

Another thread having a pop at Simon Jordan!!! Yawn!!

Did the poor palace fans nearly lose their team?? Awww bless!! At least if there's no Palace, you can just find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon, that poor sod lost millions of his own money and had 10 years of stress trying to run the club, so I think his opinion is more relevant than a lot of those Sky pundits who have never put their head on the chopping block in any way shape or form!!
