I'm not a football guru
Midland,Rudi,Kermit, ex h, YT and many more on here are in the know about systems and playing formations.
I've only really watched and suffered the pain and some joy of palace for 40 years and am a bit naive on the technical stuff.
I've never played either apart from a park kick around.
Exactly what type or particular striker would enhance our team. It seems what is needed at the moment.
Vardy whippet, lineker goal hanger, sheringham thinker.
This is how I see these players both now and in the past.
And how would each type fit in with who we have now, if at all
Different opinions would help me really understand.
And might help others to get it. No offence intended.
I do try but hey I'm better with boilers!

A striker that plays to the rest of the teams strengths. We break quick and get the ball into the box so...
Someone who is good in the air, has a good first touch, not bad hold up play, big/strong enough not to get bullied off the ball. And someone with a good chances/conversion ratio.
Basically a Benteke that's in decent form.

A nippy little AJ type would work well in our team sometimes but not against all opposition in this division. There are some teams would know how to cut off his supply.

I was hoping for peace and love to mankind , even on the Hennessey / Speroni threads.

Well Chryst certainly Rudi knows everything ,so he will give you the best answer.
But if we sign a striker,we need one that puts the ball in the net.
E.G. Ian Wright or Andrew.
