Sorry to start what will probably be seen as a negative post. It's not meant to be, it's more just a frustration.

Now the dust has settled on what was a fantastic bit of individual skill from Zaha to save us in the West Ham game, it's starting to finally feel like a draw!

I was relieved as anyone on the day, jumping and dancing as Zaha's last kick of the game sent West Ham fans home fuming. It felt like a win, for days.

Unfortunately, I've just taken a look at the league table. I don't know why it's taken me until now to properly work it out.

If we'd have won, we'd still of course be routed to the bottom of the Premier League but with other results now finalised, we'd be 1 point of Bournemouth and 2 points off Everton, Swansea and West Ham.

It goes to show that we are still working with fine margins and yes, whilst I do actually think because of our start, lack of preparation and lack of striker we will probably go down, it is still balancing precariously.

The downside is it is Spurs next and that is almost certainly another 3 points lost. If one of those 4 teams above us pick up points then it's even further behind but if we could do 3 wins on the trot I think we could find ourselves potentially out.

So let's not keep giving 2 goal head starts to relegation fodder. Let's play for 90 minutes like we do in the second 45! We can do this! Just...

I think the euphoria on Saturday was down to the fact that we never seem to score late goals - concede yes, but score no. All we have to do now is cut out the goals we concede right at the start, right on half-time, right after half-time and at random other times!

We will not go down you negative soul you.

I suspect we will go on a one win/one draw/ one loss ratio to the end of the season and survive on mid-40 points. We will buy well in January; and other similar bottom feeders who have started well will relatively decline from the New Year.

Trust me - it will happen.

I look at the table this way 2 wins from 15th spot with 28 games to go.
after spurs we have 8 games which we could win or pick up points from.
so as george michael sang you got to have faith faith faith

He also sung 'Don't let the sun go down on me', 'Spinning the wheel' and 'Wake me up before you go go' and 'guilty feet I've got no rhythm' so I'll wait for 2 back to back wins before looking for hope in football from George Michael.

If you do then recently hearing the words in Freedom 90 have more meaning for this purpose. I can see Parish singing on Twitter now.

We never ever do it the easy way. If we do survive , it will be the last kick of the last game on the last day. Typical bloody palace

Eze Peasy at Anfield....

After the Spurs game, we will have played 11 times against 8 of the teams in the top 10.

Watford and Arsenal are the only two we haven't.

Let's see.....

Truth is it was a point against a relegation rival at home after going 2 goals down. 2 points dropped and we cannot keep doing that. A quarter of the season has gone and we are bottom, huge amount of work and luck needed.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Agree with your sentiment, it was a game we absolutely needed to win, if we are to have a fighting chance of getting out of this, although on the other hand a defeat would have been a disaster and at least West Ham didnt gain any ground from us.

Odds on Palace to be relegated dropped from 2.06 on Betfair exchange to 1.96 (favourites) after the draw so the bookies dont think it did us any favours either.
