Haven't we done well, considering where we are in this ranking?

I thought Everton sploshed out £150m last window. Even accounting for selling Lukaku that doesn't look right.

Lukaku £75 mil. Deleofeu £10mil. Cleverley £8mil. That's 93 in sales already.

Last season they sold Stones for £50mil too, so can't see any reason why the stats would be wrong.

Ok, a more detailed look (disregarding the top 6):
These are my estimates in euros

Everton splashed 240 million on Sigurdsson, Michael Keane, Pickford, Klaasen, Bolasie, Schneiderlin (!!), Ashley Williams, Vlasic, Onyekuru, Sandro Ramirez, Lookman, Idrissa Gueye and a few more.
They got 170 for Lukaku, Deulofeu, Cleverley and Stones. That's a 70 million expenditure.
Prospect: when the team will get used to playing without Lukaku, things will turn up. They brought in some good players and some just decent ones. I can't see them being relegated. Getting Rooney for free is wonderful business too. It's like they sold Lukaku to United for more than 100 million, not just for 84. Rooney is at the very least a good enough striker for the PL.

Southampton splashed 110 on Boufal, Gabbiadini, Hojberg, Redmond, Lemina, Hoedt and Bednarek, while getting 100 for Sadio Mane, Graziano Pelle, Wanyama, Jose Fonte, Juanmi and Jay Rodriguez.
Juanmi was only sold for 5 million to Sociedad, kind of a bad move, as he's a very good substitute in Spain. They also have van Dijk, Tadic (who's finally found his feet again) and Charlie Austin from 3-4 summers ago, so they have a solid squad. -10 million

Leicester spent 175 on Slimani, Musa, Ndidi, Mendy, Iheanacho, Adrien Silva, Iborra and Maguire. They got 110 on Drinkwater, Kante, Schlupp, Kramaric (bad move selling) and a few others.
They mostly still have the champion squad. -65 million (they should have spent more though, cause they earned a lot of cash winning the league)

West Ham paid 130 on Arnautovic, Chicharito, Andre Ayew, Snodgrass, Lanzini, Jose Fonte, Masuaku and a few more. They got 70 in total for Payet (who wanted to leave), Tomkins, Nordveit, Ashley Fletcher and a few more. Squad isn't bad, Lanzini has been mostly injured this season but now he's back and that will make a difference. Chicharito has been mediocre, but will step up. They could have exploited more Enner Valencia. -60 million

Bournemoth spent 75 on Jordon Ibe (18 mil!!), Nathan Ake, Begovic and some others, while getting 25 million for Matt Ritchie and some more players they didn't want. Ryan Fraser is pretty much frozen out and could be a good deal for anyone in winter. -50 million

WBA bought with 80 million Chadli, Livermore, Matt Phillips, Oliver Burke, Jay Rodriguez, Kieran Gibbs. They sold for 30 million Berahino and James Chester. When you look at it.....the team should have gotten miles better, those were good deals! -50 million

Stoke spent 75 million on Kevin Wimmer, Zouma's loan (8 million!!!!), Joe Allen and Berahino. They got 40 million for Arnautovic and a few others. Shaqiri is on fire there this season. As long as he's around, they're competitive. They got Choupo-Moting for free from the Bundesliga. What's the diference between Benteke and Choupo-Moting? Oh yeah, 31 million paid

Swansea spent 110 on Sam Clucas, Bony, Roque Mesa, Borja Baston (who's now gone to Malaga on loan, even though Swansea desperately needed him!!), Renato Sanches' loan (8,5 million) and got 130 for Sigurdsson, Andre Ayew, Ashley Williams, Fernando Llorente, Jack Cork among others. +20 million, but a very weakened squad

Burnley got Chris Wood, Jack Cork , Robbie Brady, Hendrick, Defour. Sold Michael Keane, Andre Gray. -30 million. Their squad looks pretty bad for me (I can only see decent players, none very good in my opinion, except maybe for ?Robbie Brady??), but they've proven me wrong. They're an anomaly, a team who scores less than the number of matches played, but still sits comfortably in the table. They've been pretty lucky too, with many 1-0 wins. They shouldn't have won against Palace either. Luck will eventually run out, but they've just about gathered enough points already to maybe stay up. Plus, there hasn't been a proper replacement for Andre Gray yet, so another striker coming in winter will help them score more too.

Watford has relied a lot on bringing in talent from abroad and it has helped them gain promotion and establish themselves as a good team in the PL. They spent 130 million on Andre Gray, Richarlison (biggest hit this year in the PL), Cleverley, Will Hughes, Isaac Succes, Roberto Pereyra, Sven Kums, Janmaat and some others. They got in 75 for Ighalo, Vydra (who's doing great in the Championship), Layun, Berghuis (sadly they didn't give him more chances) and somewhat recouping on Sven Kums. -55 million, but a good squad

The 3 newly promoted have brought in players like: Jacob Murphy, Atsu, Matt Ritchie, Dwight Gayle, Izquierdo, Propper, Knockaert, Gross (3 goals and 5 assists in the PL so far), Suttner (4 goals and 5 assists last year in the Bundesliga, as a left back, playing for lowly Ingolstadt), Mounie, Tom Ince, Aaron Mooy- all playing well in the PL.

What has Crystal Palace done? Paid almost 140 on Sakho, Riedewald, Benteke (31 million!), Townsend, Milivojevic, Schlupp, Tomkins, van Aanholt. While While getting around 55 for Bolasie, Gayle. With the exception of Townsend, all the other players brought in are defensive players. Considering Benteke hasn't been very good and you also gave up on Remy, Campbell and Adebayor, why not bring in more attacking players? FdB wanted to play 3-5-2, which would be all right as long as we consider Schlupp or PVA on the left. But you can't play that with Ward on the right. He brought in a dozen central defenders to play this system, but now they're all just sitting around, like Riedewald. Too many central defenders and not enough attacking players. Oh yeah, RLC came in. He's sort of a central midfielder....attacking player?? With 1 goal and 1 assist experience in the PL when he joined.
