He has turned into a real goalscorer with 16 so far this season.
Compare this to the 10 goals he scored in the whole of last season and the 12 goals the season before last.

As for Bournemouth,if I am not mistaken he has scored on the last 5 times he has played against them, which includes a hat-trick.

Still think he's highly overrated. With team-mates like Silva, Aguero, DeBruyne & Mane, Sterling is bound to score. But look at him during the game! What does he really bring to the team? Can not cross, no good dribbler and doesn't track back..with him, Henderson & Co in Russia, forget anything about success for England.

What does the bring to the team: 16 goals and 4 assists in half a season.

I think you need to look again.

I see your point but a team of rolls Royce players doesn't mean it's the best.
History is always showing that.
You need players who will run and just be there on the end of balls from the rolls Royce ones.
That's where Stirling is
His reading of the game has improved so much under pep and he pep, must take immense credit for that.

I dont think City have need of utily multi faceted players given their squad of thoroughbreds. They only need precision parts in their make up and Sterling fits Guardiola's requirements exactly at present. The day he doesn't he won't feature much (bit like Yaya Toure currently) or someone else can have him!

His finishing is improving, his movement is superb, he'll happily press defenders all game, his dribbling is great (have you watched him this season) and he is always in the right place to score. His form this season is no fluke, Sterling is an excellent player.

Could have had Sterling, Zaha and Kane as a front 3 for England. That would have been nice.

He's clearly stepped up to the plate this season, thanks in no short measure to Guardiola.

Having said all that; I could score at least 3 goals in the prem with KDB*, Sane, Gundogan; Silva and Aguero feeding me sublime through balls on a regular basis.

*when not on his customary stretcher
