A pioneer for professional black footballers.

A sad loss.

Very sad, and at such a relatively young age. He always seemed like a nice fella.

Extremely sad news = outstanding ambassador for football and sport. Why it is always the great and good whom we lose so early....

Very sad, top footballer and top bloke. I know his cousin John lives in the Palace area and he will be devastated.

You have to admire Cyril Regis one of the three degrees at WBA. They our own Vince Hilaire and others were trailblazers.

The abuse that black players had to put up with would have strained the patience of Mother Theresa let alone a fit healthy footballer. When I think about it now I amazed that the likes of Regis didn't just do a Cantona and wade into the crowd.

It says a lot about the man that he conducted himself with far more dignity than the knuckle draggers.

RIP my good man
