Did not see that one coming at all and unsure what to think of it. Seems like a decent down to earth bloke. However wanting to go for Flores and ending up with Lambert you wonder what kind of "shortlist" the Stoke board made up. We are not alone in odd managerial appointments it seems.

Johan

It was reported early on that Bilic wasn't on the list.
There was reported interest in Rowett but Derby made it clear he wouldn't be released and offered him a new contract.

Look at some out-of-work managers and reflect on whether you would have considered them :

Steve Clarke, Koeman, Clement, FDB, Di Matteo, McClaren,McLeish, Pearson, Monk, Strachan, Redknapp.

Willo,
I was talking to “someone “ in the Pub who advised me that Steve Clarke was the Manager of Kilmarnock.
Which is in “Scotland “.

Lets face it, you can barely call that managing a football club could you ?

I was mainly surprised because they seemed on track for Flores which I think looked good at Watford, then come up with Lambert. Think it is very premature to call them doomed though, they will get out of the relegation zone if you ask me, to be honest.

They will need to get a wriggle on now IMHO
When you look at the April/ May fixtures
Arguably they have a tough finish albeit I’m glad we don’t have Brighton’s and Huddersfield’s run in- they are both really touch Last 5-6 matches.
It will be tight all the way to the last game or two this year unlike recent years by memory.

Red & Blue since ' 76.. And what a fine year that was and has been ever since... !
