Just looked at PNE forum. Sounds like it could be a goer and not just tabloid bulls***. Posters on there seem to have had some knowledge of a bid from a prem club in the offing yesterday.

Seems somewhat out the blue this one, but I think could be a goer. He's not had the greatest past record and from a personal note a local lad for me. In fact he started off at the academy that plays one minute down the road from where I live.

However, Dave Seddon, Preston North End reporter at the Lancashire Evening Post, reports that Preston say they have had no contact from Reading. However, he has hinted there could be interest in Hugill from a club higher than the Championship. Another hint but does not name us

Looks like a typical Dougie-type find to me and under the tutelage of someone like Hodgson could be good. Certainly shouldn't be worse than Campbell but looks a bit more like Wickham in style, something of a unit. Always a risk with players like this that they can't make the step up but with the present manager and DoF much reduced compared with the Pardew regime.

We need to get another striker in during this window and time running out, I really want to be positive with this one but sadly I’m a little underwhelmed after watching all his goals over the past couple of seasons. Clearly a decent player but premiership level, i don’t think so. Would be ecstatic to be wrong though, it wouldn’t be unusual.

Ive got to work this morning to discover I have a very reliable source on this one. They have confirmed he is desperate to leave Preston as they wont pay what he think he is worth. My source is sending messeges on my behalf. I'll keep you informed as and when I hear anything.
