Dead.

Former Premier League referee, most famous for 'that' shove by Di Canio.

Started off refereeing in the Redhill League if my memory serves me right. Terrible shame and comparitively young.

Paul was our youth team coach when at Redhill FC at the end of the 70s / early 80s.
Shame he will only be remembered by most for that incident.

R.I.P. Mr Alcock

Sh@t.

I used to know Paul many moons ago.

Hard bloke to warm to but to be fair I didn't know him very well.

Wouldn't wish what he had on my worst enemy.

RIP Paul

Very sad reading. I'm only four years younger. He seemed a decent bloke who cared for the game and took pride in his performance. I wish more were like him. As far as the DiCanio shove goes, the mere fact he touched a ref in a threatening manner is grounds enough for a lengthy forced vacation from the game.

RIP Paul Alcock. You will be missed.
