Have you tried driving one? I had a high miler as a hire car in The Canaries last year and didn't like it very much as it was lollopy, rather like driving a boat

I’ve driven one (or mainly my wife has) for about the last 10 years. We’re on our third one, so I guess that tells you I reckon they’re pretty good. Very practical with loads of room, 7 seats, big boot and if you get the higher model you get a good spec too. When the seats are down it’s like a big van. Currently got the diesel automatic and it’s not a great driving experience. Bit of a delay when you put your foot down, which our previous petrol version didn’t do. Basically a good value car for a family. Two of my kids have now flown the nest, so thankfully we won’t need one of these big cars when we change. Hopefully a Jaguar F Type next....

Thanks for the input. I know the diesel wont be as responsive but your looking at almost 15miles more per gallon and £150 tax per year rather than almost £300. Is the build quality good you think? Also is the auto box ok? Ive read it can be a bit chuddery when it changes gear?

Know the width of it. Don't add to the many on the road who don't. They should have a limit of time allowed on the road.

Yeah, the build quality seems pretty good. No problems in that regard. And yes, we’ve experience the juddery engine, when pulling away from stationary. I wasn’t sure if it was the auto or the diesel but it’s going on for MOT and Service next week and we’ve asked them to look at that.

Got a F-Pace, nice, fast, good acceleration for an Indian car. Not a nice choice, had a Zafira (sp?) as a courtsey car once clutch was crap and car "clunky", only bonus was it was winter and the missus liked the heated steering wheel.

Just to clarify - you've have 3 of these in the last 10 years? Were they on hire purchase or something? A new car every 3-or-so years would be a warning signal for me, unless you were trading in...
