After banging on for weeks about referees failing to protect the likes of ickle pretty Gabriel Sane from horrible agricultural two-footed lunges he suddenly seems to have gone very quiet on the subject. Can't think why.

I thought it was a red, Delph was reckless and out of control. I found Shearer to be so predictable in his top four bias, if that was a Wigan player. It will be interesting to see if the FA turn a blind eye to both pep and auguro who appeared to assault a fan at full time.

Shearer was a total disgrace trying to excuse that and pass it off as a yellow. We all know what he would say if Milivojevic, for example, ever did anything like that. The man is a knob of the highest order.

It wasn't just me that thought he was being a dick then. When it comes to the big teams, and Newcastle, he talks complete bollocks.

Optimistic as ever

The one person on the pitch who cost Citeh the game was Kyle Walker.

Not seeing much noise about his influence on the result.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

It's difficult for a defender whose normal modus operandi is chucking opposing attachers into advertising hoardings when he suddenly finds himself up against a ref who actually means business.
