No, but they'll find someone else to blame as always!

At least they aren't stupid enough to smash up their own coach like our fans did

Not that I'm condoning the behaviour in any way, but our fans painted "CPFC" on the side of the coach, when it was parked and empty, rather than chucking bottles at it when it was full of players.

Slightly different, IMO (both are out of order, just to different degrees)

They are 'Painted' as friendly, knowledgeable, good-humoured supporters who stand shoulder to shoulder with Evertonians in the Derby games with NO violence at all but in the main this is not the reality.

I fully accept there are vast swathes that do not enter this category but let's not fall for all the PR piffle. There are a lot of rascals amongst their supporters who have a particular dislike of "Cockneys" and Mancunians.

No they didn't. It wasn't a Palace coach and wasn't smashed up.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I remember the 2nd leg of the League cup semi at Anfield (after winning the first leg) where we were roundly thumped. A Liverpool thug met us coming out of the ground and stood, arms wide, singing "we hate cockneys and we hate cockneys" trying to goad some sort of response - the confused look on his face was priceless when the Palace fans joined in with the song (I would imagine he still doesn't get it)

Precisely what I was posting.
Same for supporters in the North-East who have a loathing of "Cockneys".
They don't even know the true definition of a "Cockney".
They probably think we still use Cockney rhyming slang.

Scum bags, and the club encouraged it.

The appropriate punishment should be playing behind closed doors, preferably the home leg of the CL semi. But you know the maximum it'll be will be a suspended penalty, and if behind closed doors probably versus the smallest opposition in the future.

Me? I'd ban them for 7 or 8 years again, not the 5 it became.

It's UEFA, the punishment will be cash. As much of it as their rules allow them to pocket.
