Been saying for a couple of seasons we should look at him. Iranian forward who plays for AZ Alkmaar and only 24. 18 goals and 12 assists and is both footed. As someone who is half Iranian, I’d love to see an Iranian play for Palace. Could also give us routes into the Iranian market commercially where they love football. Also, I’m sick of my family only hearing about Palace through me.

What do we think?

Just like CYL gives us routes into the South Korean market? We need quality 1 st team players not a bench full of dross.

I just hope he doesn’t score for us at home, I have enough trouble shouting out Luka’s name.

He's a really good player actually. Lots of goals and assists from playimg out wide as a winger. Probably the best and most afordable in the Dutch league (as Ziyech and Hirving Lozano would cost a great deal coming from big clubs like Ajax os PSV). Jahanbakhsh comes from Alkmaar and they don't demand that much when they sell.

Sure, the Dutch league has had some bad results lately, but this doesn't mean there aren't still good players there. Especially this guy, with all his goals, despite not playing as a striker and being mostly a team player.

Just use his initials and he could wear a magic hat.

He has ‘Alireza’ on shirt, so I assume AZ feel the same way

He's great. Has been absolutely on fire recently. He has great pace and good shooting. Would make for a good PL footballer, but will probably need some adapting time.

Didn't Janssen at Spurs come from the same team ? Also his team mate Weghorst have 3 goals less having played 2 games less ? Also Bjorn Johnsen has scored a fair few in that league this season after 6 in 34 for Hearts last season !?! To be honest I don't know a lot about the Dutch league to pass judgement.

Ask Spurs how they fared at getting Vincent Janssen on the cheap.....
They are not stupid in Alkmaar and when a PL team comes they will want their share of the TV money.
I am guessing, but as he has 2 years on his contract I would think if Ajax or PSV would come they want 10-12 million, if a PL club comes perhaps twice that.
And yes he has been wonderful, but is rather "light". Has played mainly from the wing and would be interesting to see if he could cut it from the center, as I think we need that most. A creative attacking midfielder who chips in with goals.
There really is no comparing defenses here and in the PL. He could be a good buy but would be a big risk.

Eridivisie is a poor league. Very little quality coming from there now, look at the national side and some of the players that have moved recently.
