Was looking at the centenary team on Wiki today and it got me wondering who'd still be in it after our 5 years unprecedented run in the Premier League, original team below:

Nigel Martyn
Paul Hinshelwood
Chris Coleman
Jim Cannon
Kenny Sansom
John Salako
Geoff Thomas
Andy Gray
Attilio Lombardo
Andrew Johnson
Ian Wright

I think my new team (and I saw all the originals play would be:

N Martyn
J Ward
M Sahko
Cannon
Sansom
W Zaha
G Thomas
Luka or Jedinak
A Lombardo
A Johnson
I Wright

Just quick thoughts, i'm sure i've missed a few names

... what

Sorry but no way is Ward good enough to replace Doris and although I wouldn’t have had Coleman in the original team, I don’t think Sakho has done anywhere near enough yet to warrant a place.

I do agree with Wilf ousting Salako though!!

Personally I would go with Clyne at right back..!!

Far better player than Doris - who wasn't that great..!!

Who for Manager Roy, Sir Steve or El Tel?

Martyn.

Clyne. Moore. Sakho. Sansom.

Wilf. Gray. Thomas. Bolasie.

Wright. Bright.

That's based on players I've seen in the flesh, and their playing at the peak I saw them.

Johnson was a better player than Bright, no question, but Bright would add more to Wright's game. He'd also suit Yannick so well.

From the best I have seen since 1978 - I'd go;

Martyn
Clyne, Southgate, Sakho, Sansom
Moses, Nicholas, Thomas, Zaha
Wright, Bright

Manager Sir Steve, Director of Football Roy H, Coach Ray Lew

That's a team..!!

COYP

I know it was a long time ago and we all have our favourites, but Doris was a match for some of the best wingers around at the time, Robertson of forest, highway of Liverpool, sir coppell of Man Utd, much as Clyne was a good little player, he never even played in the top flight for us!!

Honestly don't understand why Billy Gilbert does not get mentioned on these threads. In my humble opinion he is the best centre back I have seen in a Palace shirt.
