No Hart or Wilshere according to reports, and rightly so.

Hart didn’t deserve a place but i think we lack a player like wilshere tbh. Especially with chamberlain out of the squad. England’s midfield needs someone who can carry the ball. Dier, henderson- they don’t have that quality. Loftus cheek should definitely be included if wilshere is ousted.

I am a little surprised about both. I accept that Joe Hart's demise has been alarmingly rapid, but there's no doubting he is a good pro, very experienced and a strong influence. I'd have thought he would have been worth the number 3 slot - which is highly unlikely to be used.

Also, I get all the reasons for not selecting Wilshere, but he looked good to me this season. He certainly made the difference against us.

However, I'll back the manager and trust his judgement is a lot more substantiated than mine. Hopefully RLC might sneak in.

But if he gets into that squad it'll be because of what he's achieved with Palace and Hodgson. At Chelsea he might have gone to Russia to pick splinters out of arses because he wouldn't have done much else there.

So potentially we could have three palace players in the squad Andross, RL-C and Tomkins would that be a fair assumption?

Potentially but not at all likely. RLC may be in, but he'll be Chelsea's player, and the other two won't be.

Cahill in. Had a poor season. Tomkins not considered as he's not on the radar but surely should have been at least considered given his form. Centre back options looks quite thin. Jones, Maguire, Stones, Cahill.

Stones good but not played much. Maguire was terrible last few games (Leicester conceded 14 goals in 4 games?). Jones injury prone. Cahill had a poor season.

Looks like back 3 with Walker at right CB...

Lascelles and Tarkowski (and Tomkins) unlucky not to be ahead of Cahill in that Squad. If Cahill played for a club outside the top 5 he'd be nowhere near.

surprised Milner didnt even make the standby list, been excellent for Liverpool all season. But this is a very inexperienced squad when it comes to international tournaments.

I think this might be a more future building squad rather than any thoughts on winning the world cup.

He's retired from international duty. Clearly Southgate didn't ask him or couldn't persuade him to change his mind.

I agree he should be in the first XI let alone the 23. Shame Oxlade-Chamberlain is injured as those two together would have improved our midfield massively. In international terms looks pretty lightweight.

France for instance will have Kanté, Pogba, Kondogbia, Matuidi, Payet, Lemar, Rabiot.

Spain will have Thiago Alcantara, Koke, Saul Niguez, Iniesta, David Silva, Isco, Asensio, Lucas Vazquez.

Germany will have Draxler, Khedira, Gundogan, Toni Kroos, Ozil

Belgium (in our group) have De Bruyne, Nainggolan, Witsel, Carrasco, Mousa Dembélé

Brazil - Casemiro, Fernandinho, Palinho, Douglas Costa, Willian

I've not even mentioned some of the attacking midfield players those sides have.
