from Borussia Moenchengladbach. German-Italian guy, has just turned 25, was a great winger last seasons with 6 goals and 15 assists in 3300 minutes (that's one every 150 minutes!).

Compare that to Andros Townsend, who gave 5 goals and 15 assists in 5900 minutes in a similarly cometitive league (1 in 300 minutes) and for whom several English clubs are willing to pay over 25 million.

The quality and bargains available in Germany and other leagues are amazing!

The German league is weaker hence the stats mean little.

Look at Burke since he returned to Premier league, has struggled to get in West Brom team when fit.

Sure, there will be some bargains, but stats alone mean nothing.

Disagree.
Bayern tops every PL team.
Leverkusen= Tottenham (check out their Champions League matches if you don't believe me)
Borussia Dortmund is pretty much capable of the same great results and bad losses as Liverpool
Hoffenheim (with Gnabry), 3rd this year >> Arsenal
RB Leipzig (with Werner)>> a lot of teams, even passed Napoli in the Europa League this year. Beat FC Porto 3-1 and Monaco 4-1 in the Champions League. I sincerely doubt a team like Chelsea would beat them.

The last 3 teams in their league: Wolfsburg, Hamburg and Koln >> Swansea, West Brom and Stoke.

I don't see any difference in favour of the PL between the leagues and if it then it's infinitesimal.

Fair point as I was looking at Dortmund initially. Judging by today there might well be some bargains in Germany.

It’s just a pride/patriotic thing. The myth about the premier league being this mystical superior land got debunked by honest people a long time ago. But most English will cling onto anything they can to continue it.

Using your oh so reliable numbers let’s put that into context. England (13) were knocked out by Iceland (22) & Germany (1) knocked out by Korea (57).

So clearly being beaten by a team 9 places behind you in the rankings is better than being beaten by one 56 below.

If, and it’s a big IF, these German players are that good there’d be scouts & bigger clubs all over them. They would also be more prominent in the national set up which has rocked up at the WC finals with a squad made up mostly of players past their best.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

FIFA rankings are a rough guideline at best. Going into this World Cup Switzerland were ranked 6th, ranking them ahead of the likes of France and Spain.

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link]

That Leroy Sané must be rubbish then as he didn't even make that poor squad

Debunked? How so? Interesting that you think anyone who doesn't share your view isn't being honest.

I think the Premier League is certainly the most competitive, which I my mind makes it the best. You can certainly argue that quality is higher elsewhere, but the unpredictability of the PL makes it far better to watch IMO.
