Maybe I've got me rose tinteds on but I don't remember years ago all those players with long injuries being out for more than a couple of weeks at most.

Example Connor Wickam...nothing against the bloke, hope he comes back soon....just hope he aint doing a Neymar

Must be the first thread ever when Connor Wickam has been compared with Neymar.

Rose Tinteds. Sounds like a band or a teddy boy tribute act.

Has anyone on HOL ever seen - or even owned - a pair of rose-tinted spectacles?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Those injured ‘play-on’ until the end of their contracts, then make a decision on what to do.
In the old days their career would’ve been over day one

Neymar already tipped for BAFTA & Oscar nominations given the strength of his acting talents....

You must be joking as Willo, HOL's doom and gloom merchant used to look at the club through mud coloured glasses

No. Perhaps there is a gap in the market for such a product.

Mike Elwiss, Kevin Mabbutt, Johnny Salad, Anton Otulakowski??

But you're right in general - even when Wrighty broke his leg he was back quickly for the Cup Final. The 78/79 promotion team was barely ever changed.

Maybe we were lucky, maybe the game is more intense but we do seem to be getting a lot more injuries than 20-40 years ago.

You fed me, you bred me, I'll remember your name.
