When is Luka back? It better be this week and for the Reading game. He should have been playing yesterday. Serbia were dumped out of the World Cup weeks ago. Why the extended leave?

Yeah you're right. What's the point in playing them? All this talk of preparing for the coming season is all b***ocks. In fact, I think this whole training thing is overrated too. The players should just turn up on matchdays and we'll just see what happens.

Serbia were knocked out of the World Cup on 27th June. Luka would've travelled home by early July and is entitled to a reduced 3-4 weeks off, this is still much less than the 6-7 weeks that the other players have. It's vital he rests his body and also chills out mentally after playing a crazy number of games since August 2017. He'll likely return at some point next week, and could take some part in the Reading game depending on how his body is shaping up when it comes to the fitness and conditioning side of things. He shouldn't have been playing yesterday because if he did he could've got injured as he hasn't been through any pre-season training yet.

Generally after a tournament you don't see the players who took part until maybe the second game of the season.
