Still can't believe he's not been picked up by a prem side, even a newly promoted one.

I don't think we can bank on RLC coming back in any capacity and with Yohan gone he could slip right into that attacking mid/creative role.

IIRC he was picked up by the www***ers and also played for Hull and Leicester. He's now 26 ish!Ollie's Dad,Ash.

He's 24, but I agree, it's hard for me to think he has Premier League quality.

OP's suggestion that he could replace Cabaye is unrealistic, as Powell has only a few times played central idfielder. He plays behind the striker or even as centre forward. And if you don't have him designated totake the penalties and free kicks, his goal tally drops by half. Not that impressive in the Championship and League One.

I don't think you can judge him on a total of 6 loan appearances for Hull and Leicester....Wilf looked terrible on loan at Cardiff.

I can only go on what I've seen and I think he has quality. He stood out against prem opposition in the FA Cup run and with the right people coaching and managing him I think he could improve further still.

His story seems all to familiar - too much too young but he's still around so that shows some character.

And would be relatively cheap. Worth a punt IMHO.
