Still a week or so to go but currently this is roughly how it looks assuming a 4-3-3 distribution

Hennessy
Guaita

Wan-Bissaka (under age)
Ward

Sakho
Dann(?)

Tomkins
Kelly

van Aanholt
Souare

Kouyate
Schlupp

Milivojevic
Riedewald

Meyer
McArthur

Zaha
Sorloth

Benteke
Wickham

Townsend
Kaikai

Puncheon, Williams, Jach + several U21s

Given a preponderance of midfielders you can see the case for an Riedewald/Ayew deal and possible interest in Ings (at a reasonable cost) and Antonio

Given Dann's unavailablity and Jach's limited ability another central defender could be one loan and a winger the other. I'd be looking at players at top clubs looking for more playing time, like last year.

One, at least, of Puncheon and Williams needs to go on loan or be sold

Exactly. I’d like to keep Riedewald and anyone with some promise but our wide attacking options are very slim.

and with 3 strikers all of whose strength is aerial it makes even more sense to have someone who can cross ball in open play - although I am not sure that is Ayew's strength

Jach is already away on loan so he won't figure.

Tx. I missed that. Another reason for more coverage at CB - although I believe the youngsters have done well in friendlies it is still a big step up

Now fully satisfied with the window.

What with the two academy CBs who have apparently impressed, as well as the fact I could see williams as decent cover out wide if necessary, I'm not too fussed about whether we get loans in to further cover these positions.

That being said, strength in depth is always appreciated, so loans for a promising (& PL proven if possible) Wide player & CB wouldn't necessarily go amiss, especially as the academy CBs, Williams & Kaikai are all unproven at this level.

Every season our squad improves but maybe this will be the season we really kick on.

I would not be displeased if PVA subbed in for Wilf or Townsend, if that was ever needed. He can definitely cross a ball. I think we have cover at LB with Schlupp and Souare.

I think that one or two of your list will either be sold or sent out on loan to make way for one or two new arrivals.

I guess that Ryan Inniss will be the first out of the door as Sam Woods may have done enough to take his spot as well as being under the magical age limit too.

If we bring in another striker I can see Kaikai being moved on and Souaré could also be sent out on loan to get his match sharpness back again

Does anyone know if this is complies with the home grown player rule?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
