Why do they keep getting him on for Palace games? He was literally at the club for 5 mins and no-one at Palace really gives a s*** about his views.

He’s one of the best defenders in football history. He managed the club and was treated poorly whatever way you wanna angle it or rewrite history.

I personally think his take will be interesting on where we’re currently at.

Hmm, treated poorly you say

In my job, when someone has an unsuccessful probationary period we deal with it. It is not in anyone's interests to keep persevering with mis-hires.

And when someone willfully refuses to listen to their boss and to adjust to their own underperformance, what you gonna do?

Who really gives two hoots about any of the pundits views. We like the bits we agree with and disregard the rest as any fan does.

A more accurate statement would be "He was appointed as the manager."

I agree with the OP, sod off trotting him out Sky. It's bad enough that most of MNF is spent with them talking about other games, never mind having to hear about the start of last season again.

Optimistic as ever

What can he usefully say? "Ach vell I vould not haff done zatt!"?

He was the very definition of toilet and nobody Palace will take a blind bit of notice of anything he says - unless of course for the purposes of laughing our arses off.

I don't suppose that Sky have got him along to appeal to Palace fans anyway

I’m really not here to re open that debate. It’s pointless and I’ll be even more outnumbered now than I was at the time. You’re not allowed to of thought he’d do well in the end. And that’s fine, I’ve accepted that. “Wacky Dutch guy who didn’t have a clue and thought we were Barcelona” is the only take you’re allowed on history, I get it.

My point is that, it’s hardly a pointless person to bring onto MNF if available. Just because Palace fans in general seem to have this weird hate for him, it’s not really gonna come into Sky’s consideration.

Nobody cares what the 'pundits' say but he at least knows most of the players.
I may be in the minority but I say to get the push after 4 games was unfair particularly in his last game away to Burnley we were starting to get it together, were the dominant team and did everything but score (does that ring a bell this season?) We gifted them the winning goal. I would have liked him to have been given more time - his system needed practice and who is to say it would not have come good?

in all honesty, the burnley away game, we were tremendous, play lovely football and should've won but lost 1-0.

I don't think he was just sacked due to results, I think his arrogance with certain players was too much for the group to accept.

rumours of showing ward and someone else up from what I remember...

Really... I don't think hate is the right word. Sh!te would be better.

I was excited by the prospect of FDB as manager but look how it turned out. You can't treat the team the way he did and expect to last long.

Imho, the only thing he did that I rate was to sign Riedewald, who I think could be a good addition to the team.

It's a bit strange for Sky to have him commenting on Palace after what happened.
