Anyone support the idea of trying to get him from Everton? He seems pretty unhappy there after failing to get a return to Germany, and not being given much of a chance at Everton. When in Germany for Leipzig he was in good form, with 5 goals in 11 matches.

Only potential problems would be Everton's demands, which might still be quite high unless Lookman issues a transfer request, and the fact he's ex-Charlton - although I think we could forgive him that if he brings the goods for us.

Apparently Everton really wants wan Bissaka and they're willing to ofer Lookman in a straight swap or even Lookman+some money. COnsidering that they've rejected an offer of around 25 million from RB Leipzig in the summer, they're thinking wan Bissaka is worth around 25 million.

Not that I don't love the guy, he's a great right back for his age and he's been born and raised around here, but I never think a right back could be more expensive than an offensive player who offers a lot of goals. Maybe it's just me, but I'd seriously consider that offer

Armstrong was Millwall and FFS the Weeds. Dangerous on the wing but will he score enough ? The worry for Jan is we clearly know what we need, a decent striker but in Jan gone by we haven't looked at this position, apart from last season and that hasn't fixed the problem. Our striker recruits haven't shone over a number of years for a number of reasons so it must be a worry for Jan. If we don't improve currently whoever we get in Jan may well define our whole season.

If it was Lukaku when he was there then bite their hands off. Do you really think Lookman will make the difference in Jan in terms of goals in the PL ? You would have to drop Andros unless Wilf moved central. As I said on the match thread why not push AWB further up on the wing when Wilf is injured, the guy is class. Blimey we seem to of tried every other card in the pack in terms of personnel/formation why not give it a go. Also I would go further and say AWB could well be the natural successor to Wilf should we God forbid take the drop. He would boss the Championship.

wan Bissaka is solid and fast as a defender. Let's not make of him what he's not. He hasn't proven in anyway that he is an attacking midfielder/winger capable of playing in the Premier League at the highest level. He has played some matches in that position at junior level. I don't know about his success, but if he had been that technically gifted and able to create a lot in attack (goals, assists, chances), then I'm sure he would have been promoted to the first team on that position.

But he wasn't, ergo I don't think he is. His ball control doesn't strike me as great and moving him up the pitch won't provide anymore than what Schlupp has provided moved up the pitch from his usual left back position- which is exactly 0 in 800 minutes of playtime in the Premier League this season.

I don;t know how much Lookman could provide in the next 6 months, but I'm just saying that it's logical to exchange wan Bissaka for Lookman if Everton really wants that. In 2 years, we'll be lucky if someone will offer us 10 million for wan Bissaka (who will be a right back with both good matches and plenty of mistakes by then). He's got this aura now of the next big thing for the national team, as he's really young and hasn't had big mistakes so far. Ok, I like him, he's a great player. But a 25 million evaluation? Him matching Lookman, one of the biggest hopes of attacking players in English football? You'd be crazy not to pick that up.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but moving wan Bissaka up to right midfield position is not the answer to the goal draught Palace is experiencing

I agree with matteo whilst Wan Bissaka is excellent at tackling and bringing the ball out if you stop to look at his passing you will see he has a lot to learn. In midfield passing ability is key and I am afraid at the moment it is his biggest failing. He is however very young and I am sure will develop but for now let us just enjoy his defensive work.

I think you are wrong with your valuation theory, just because Bissaka is a defender doesn't mean he cant become more valuble then Lookman.
Its more than possible that Bissaka will become a world class player (just look at what Man.City pay for there defenders) where as Lookman looks to become a very good player, but not world class.

Trying Wan-Bissaka in front of Ward, trying van Aanholt in front of Schlupp instead of behind, trying Ayew playing off Soerloth ... these are all things we can use the League Cup to experiment with, aren't they? Oh, wait...

Good points and very valid. I think ultimately I cannot see him leave very time soon as he is a recent academy step up and hasn't played enough. Lookman was one that may have got away but I could never see Charlton selling probably their best player to us. One thing for sure, AWB is a huge prospect that every Palace fan should be excited about.

AWB is about the only thing stopping some fans from losing their marbles this season. We absolutely should not trade him in, especially for someone who would be somewhat of an unknown and perhaps more of a long-term prospect than an immediate cure to our ills. I don't think Everton actually need a right-back that desperately anyway.

As much as I love AWB, I think we would find it a lot easier to get a right back who can do a good job along with Ward. Valencia may be available and I would buy him in a heartbeat and swap AWB for Lookman and cash. Move Wilf up front and we would look very dangerous in my opinion

Can’t help but think the article on the home page about Lookman belonged as a post on this page, it wasn’t exactly news.
