One of the worst performances I have ever seen. Not one acceptable performance from any of the starting eleven. Tomkins and Milivojevic singled out as especially appalling. Defence complete and utter shambles. Midfield non-existent and forwards fluffing thei lines as usual when they did actually get decent positions. Slow, predictable, clueless display with circus defending and topped off with a referee whose performance was also one of the worst I have ever seen.

The only suitable post-match comment from anyone involved in that is an apology.

Perfectly put.

They definitely wanted it more than we did tonight. Sometimes it just isn't your day. Move on, we need a reaction against the Spam.

again played too narrow .... we play quite narrow we lose ... we have 2 of the better wingers in league and 2 good wingbacks and play with no width ...shockingly bad

Im actually in shock after that game. Every man was absolutely useless.

Would Jeffrey Schlupp please go and f*** himself off the highest bridge he can find. In all my years I have never come across a football player to boil my blood as much as him. Sorloth may be awful but that Schlupp fella brings awful to a whole other level. How the f*** does he get paid to play football.

Well the truth hit home tonight. Burnley did not show up and we looked great. Tonight we came back down with a very big bump. Sadly it’s gonna be a long long season.

For sorloth to be compared to Sanogoals, he needs to seriously consider another career.

Here is my reflection. We create most of our changes from using speed etc and getting behind, now from very early on this was made much more difficult for several reasons they had a few goals and one less player meaning they just sat deeper and deeper.

Trying to get behind is near impossible and alternatively get into the box by a series or quick one touch passing (something we don't tend to do) or by crossing balls into the box which to start with would be pointless as we have no presence in there when Sorloth came on we still didn't put many balls into the box why? i'm not sure as that might have given us another option as what we had been doing didn't conjure anything up.

Now think about the penalty, there defence wasn't to deep as we we breaking from their attack and what happened we got in behind and were awarded a penalty.

While it was a poor performance the antics early on had a huge influence and all the preparation in my opinion went out the window and we didn't know how to capitalise on the possession and breakdown such a defensive setup.

Just a few of my thoughts.

Keep the Faith.

A few mates of mine were saying "phew" after last week, and the United and Arsenal games, but we have definitely got problems.

Luka tried possibly 15 times to blast a pass into the middle of their box, it got us nowhere.

PVA was seriously poor tonight coming forward, he and AWB are absolutely vital if we want to play this way and he tried countless passes and flicks, and virtually none of them came off.

AWB at least can take a man on but barely did it, elected for backwards or sideways short balls with Townsend which invariably dont go anywhere.

We have one of the best dribblers in the league but when he got the ball their defense was rigid and static and we couldn't get him the ball in the transition, and basically he was totally wasted tonight. The one time we got him 1 on 1 running at a defender and he gets a pen.

We consistently tried to play it through the middle in the final third and it was childsplay for Brighton to contain and deal with it. The middle of the park from 40 yards out to their goalline was totally congested and full of Brighton players. There was no way through at all except if we have Messi and Xavi to carve them up - we dont.

The tactics tonight were totally ineffective and it was a seriously poor performance in many ways. We tried time and again to plough through the middle of them and it got us nowhere, time after time after time.

We must, MUST find a way to utilize Zaha and get him running at players, long ball, reverting to 442 and not using wing backs, just something......we have to do something differently because that was total rubbish and we have no hope of carving them open that way.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

The ref ran this game with his poor decisions throughout . The pen was a joke as its clear Jimmy played the ball .
At 1-0 , unjustly, the heads went leading to poor decision making first not picking up the sub as he came on to score from the corner and then some weak defending for the third .

By the time we got in at HT it was game over and little Roy could do but calm the players down . They were obviously seething at the decisions going against them and the mistakes they had made . We could actually of had a couple of goals ourselves with better finishing .

Second half was a story of not good enough to break down a packed defence .The need for a striker was obvious and Soloth is not the answer . Further poor decisions from the ref frustrated but really the frustration was with ourselves . We were too predictable ,didnt move the ball quick enough and quite frankly second best to a hard working Brighton team

It's typical f***ing Palace to follow a performance like the one against Burnley with the polar opposite against oposition that the fans so desperately want to beat.
There is definite cause for concern that we cannot compete with mid-table teams. Last year we were beating them or getting a draw at worst. This year we are not even giving them a game when they go a man down.
It pains me to say it, but should we be giving more credit to Brigton?
