If I remember correctly, Wright was seriously pi**sed off with comments made by that idiot Noades about black players, and hence wanted to leave. I was watching a programme on itv4 recently with Ian Wright about racism with black players then. I also seem to remember Coppell saying that he wanted Shearer, but Southampton simply would not sell. He bought Gabbiadini without even watching him. Edited by YT (16 Dec 2018 4.36pm)

No!!! I don't fancy returning to the championship! Do you? No decent fan would want that, if that happened it would mean all the money we have earned both past and future has been wasted by an egotistical chairman! who is more interested in his own image than the club best interest!

Yes, the interview was edited. Wright went with Novello Noades on a camping thing on tv up in the snowy mountains somewhere a few years ago so not the bad feeling some might think. The team broke up because of Wright’s ambition and us signing Marco Gabbiadini.

simple answer - no. Would anyone trust us to replace him or use the cash sensibly? Really? madness to even think about it.

Should have sold him in the summer when talk was of £70m we wouldn't get £40m the way he has been playing lately.

No - he's part of the clubs identity. He's completely committed to the club, and that attitude rubs off on others. Teams who invest in mercenaries never prosper.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
