On the face of it, not in our benefit as I would class Wickham a better striker.

However, how long before Wickham gets injured again ?

Also, giving Assombalonga a chance at the PL may well spur him on, rather than the abject commitment of Ayew.

Or we could just swap Wickham for a traffic cone.

Thing is I have always rated Assombalonga, admittedly not had a great season but a player from the championship I have always hoped we would look at. I also think Wickham is a real asset to palace if he could stay fit. Staying fit is the problem. Do we cut our losses and take a chance on someone else who has potential. Tough one

Permanent?

Could we do a loan swap until the end of the season with an option to make it perm if it works out well?

This would be a great deal for both clubs. They get the better, but injury prone striker, and we get the decent back up striker we've needed for ages. Bring. It. On.

Then we would have four back up strikers.

Or for some random person in A&E.

I think with some decent competition we could see Benteke back to near his best.

For various resason Sorloth (s-hit), Ayew (twit*)and Wickham (unfit) have not provided that so far.

*reference defending vs Spurs.

Is this real??

Why would Boro give Asombalonga up? And for Wickham, who hasn;t played in 2 years?

Wow! Take this! With both hands!

Thing is I actually think Sorloth is a good player, but hasn’t been given the chance to show it. Given that Ayew is clearly demoralised and isn’t doing anything, give him a chance before Benteke gets fit again! As for the swop deal, Wickham is getting on the bench now, so why get rid of him when for the first time in two years we can see what he can do?

What makes you think that, based on his performances for us so far?
