Any idea which pubs near to the ground will be best for the 5000 or so black and white army that will be descending on Selhurst Park next Saturday? The Prince George on Thornton Heath High St is the usual hang out.

Wont be any pubs around our way to take all of you, unless you get in touch with a few boozers around Thornton Heath and see what they can do for you . I'm sure a few of em will be happy to take a 4/5 grand extra on the day.

The Farley was a horrible pub, best thing they did closing it. Expensive beer that tasted horrid. No the Victory has closed. I used to drink in the Pawsons most match days and was in there recently, it's just a little out of my way. The Telegraph is more local to me, I'm up where the Grange used to be but I go in the George as well. Both pubs are run well and the beer is decent in both. We used to go in the Farley when it was the muddy waters about 20 years ago.

Get inside the ground where you will find a brilliant range of Beers on offer along with alas no Mars bars in batter some superb catering to sample and savour . Enjoy .

The one on the Whitehorse/Thornton Heath high st mini roundabout has to be up there as the dirtiest. After 5 minutes in there you felt like you needed a wash. Horrible in the summer. I can’t remember the name of it and it may have closed down years ago. Prince George? Not much call for pubs round there. 2 others from there just after the up and down the slope on Whitehorse Rd closed down years ago. Duke of Cambridge tucked 20 yards off the main Rd and the big yellow one opposite on the corner. The Crescent? There was the pub on Thornton Heath high st named after a black jazz musician I think. Probably gone. Don’t go to the Wetherspoons opposite Thornton Heath Station. Usually away fans. What’s the pub like that’s replaced the Wetherspoons in South Norwood? The pub is called the Shelverdene Goathouse - thus nicking the name of the famous Goathouse that used to be by Goathouse bridge. It's better than the Wetherspoons, where the staff were clearly disenchanted, most likely at the way they were treated by management. The current staff are reasonably cheerful and well-informed.

Get to the ground early if you enjoy warm lager out of plastic bottles, facilities which make Blundell Park the envy of Selhurst and scorching hot, tongue burning, inedible pies. Otherwise, stick to central London. You'll come to King's Cross I imagine, get a tube to London Bridge, sorted.

I really enjoy Shelverdine Goathouse pre-match, but it's home fans only. Good selection of beer, decent food, friendly staff, good atmosphere.

Superb catering LMFAO Most people eat before or after the game. There is a very good fish n chip restaurant called Doneagles on the way to the ground from Thornton Heath but I guess you'd like a change There are no away pubs near the ground . Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

However having fiercely criticised the food earlier in the season I must say there has been a marked improvement recently (alas not pricewise).
