How on earth has the Student's union had over 100 employed staff, on up to £100K, and got a bank loan and pensions liability of 14 m quid!

My sprogs are not supportive of the NUS. It's lost hearts and minds. I guess its finances have not reacted quickly enough to those changes.

Sounds like just another group of parasitic annoying lefties to me ? But I could be wrong. It has been known.

The best thing the NUS did for me was give colleges loads of ID cards, which my friend used to steal so we could make fake IDs and get served alcohol, circa 1998.

^this Was going to say, the only good thing about the NUS was the ID cards which got you discounts. Don't think we even had to pay for them, or if we did it was £1 I think all the fake date of birth student ID (you could write anything you liked before it was stamped and laminated!) was the reason that official 'Prove it' cards had to be introduced!!!
