He is amazing for his age, probably one of the best in the world. Was the one feeding Piatek many assists to score in the start of the season. Playing like that at just 20 (recently turned 21), with 4 goals and 5 assists in the Serie A and 14 goals and 16 assist in the Serie B is not easy. He has the build, he is fast, has everything for a bright future.

At 22 million, I'm pretty sure that could be recouped either way in the English football in 2 years time, even if he doesn't have the desired impact. Also, could rise to 80 million in 2 years if he does.

Thanks Matteo, informative post as usual

Interesting looks a real talent, just the sort we need to move to the next level.

Juve or the Palace ? Hmm, tough choice that one.

Probably means we will still buy him, at a lot lower fee & he can join Wickham on the treatment table.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Only if they will allow us to pay it over four years

Suppposedly recovering from injury until the summer, but was healthy enough to have a medical with Fiotentina. Signed him on loan with an option to buy of just 11 million euros. Kind of like 9 million pounds+ some bonuses. But only to be paid if he fully recovers by the summer, they can take the option or not.

Very good business from Fiorentina. An injury at an young age which will certainly be overcome. He will develop into one of the most expensive in Italy.

Not sure the point of this post. We were never going to get a player who is injured until the summer and have we ever been linked anyway?

Seriously linked I meant

Spiderman, go ask the Palace board if we were "seriously" linked.

This is a Kouame theread (not made by me), there have been numerous articles citing interest from Palace and I just wrote what happened eith the bloke.

I don't think he will be injured until the summer. I think his recovery is going well cause he's hard working and he'll be back on the pitch in a month. It would have been a good deal, that's my take on it. Now I understand why a club like Palace would be weary, cause of what happened with Wickham.

But this is normally a 30 million player (in a Top 5 league, not like Bowen in the Championship), at his first and only injury. To get a price like 11 million is good business for any team buying such a player.

I meant I do not know why you resurrected this thread today. As Palace fans we are all a little bit upset/p***ed off with another poor transfer window so seeing a regurgitated thread for someone we are not going to bid for is not what we want at this time.... sorry

So are we interested in signing him or not?... I’m confused...

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

He signed with Fiorentina today. That's why I updated it today.

It strikes me that most of what is posted on here is utter b***ox, by people either pretending they’re in the know or else seeking attention. Following what’s looking like another poor window can we just focus on reporting stuff that may be happening, as it’s been reported already, and people like me - who are working tonight - may miss?

Didn’t know where or how to post this but it seems James Daly has gone to Bristol Rovers on a permanent transfer. Strange as we seem to want to promote youth.
Apologise mods this may need its own thread

Perfect. I mean why wouldn’t we let a young striker go when we’ve got so many superb goal scoring options?

Well, at the risk of regurgitating this to everyone‘s dissatisfaction, it would appear that our deal to sign Kouame was done and dusted until he did his ligament. Yet again, as with Ferguson, we pulled out at the last minute, only this time Fiorentina jumped in and signed him, injury and all and hope him to play before next season.

I understand why we might not sign an injured player but it would appear his injury was operable with a high level of success anticipated, which makes me think we were not interested in players for the future. Our attitude in the market is so short termist, it’s almost like, ok we can’t take that risk let’s just put up with what we have got. If this guy turns out to be another £60m player in 12 months time we will be kicking ourselves again.

Totally agree. There are not that many injuries, in this day and age, that keep players out for too long (Wickham accepted). I suspect he will continue to be a very good player and I believe Ferguson will as well. If rumours are to be believed we could have got the pair for approximately £12 million!
