Played Chewbacca in Star Wars... To be fair the role didnt take an amazing amount of acting but I could never do the noise that he did!!

I think legend has it that PM was working as a hospital porter when he was spotted for his height.
A bit like Harrison Ford was doing carpentry around George Lucas' house when he 'auditioned' for the part of Han Solo.
Apparently he was a lovely guy. Remembered by most as a giant Nookie Bear.

More seriously. I know Dave Prowse and he has a strongish Bristonian accent. No good for Darth. James Earl Jones did the voice post production in the States.

Funny cos before I knew who did the voice i never thought that it must be or probably was a well spoken black man. It just sounded powerful and fearful.

I thought Harrison Ford was a carpenter on the set of American Graffiti (which was directed 3 or 4 years before Star Wars by George Lucas) when he was spotted and got a part in that film. I may be wrong though.
