While the usual band of HOL misery guts moan and groan about Mr. Hodgson's tactics, has anyone except me noticed that Palace hasn't been beaten by more than two goals in any league match? Usually we get thumped at least once in a season. Our heaviest defeats have been 1-3 while a largest margin of victory was 4-1. A rare season indeed for the ole Red and Blue!

Been noted and commented on.

He doesn't change things attack teams when we are losing. Meaning that generally, if we fall behind we've had it.

On the other hand it does keep scorelines down and hide his inadequacies. Helps self preservation as it appears we've been unlucky and good for goal difference.

We'd have rescued far more points if he just changed the tactics when we were losing he seemed to do this last season, but we were much more desperate for points then.

I think we've had a great season and when you compare it to one of the current "darlings", Watford, we're only four points behind them. Although they did make it to the cup final this year but league wise we're not that far behind.

Yes, and if we win Saturday we will be on 49 points our best tally in this stay in the top flight.

But some people can't admit they are wrong and keep banging on with nonsense arguments about things they don't understand.

They will keep on doing this until we are eventually relegated and then claim that they were always right and had seen it coming for years.

It reminds me of something Ron Noades said about Jeff Powell of the Daily Mail. Some people aren’t happy unless they’re unhappy.

Agreed , even just another two wins (weed ?) and three points on Saturday would have seen us somewhere around Everton and Wolves .

And we still need a striker

The thing people are frustrated about from this season is the fact that we are second to only Huddersfield in the worst home form table.
I have a season ticket and also travel to about 60-70% of away games, so ive been lucky enough to see some great performances away this season.
If I didn't travel away, and only went to home games, I'd be very frustrated that I'd spent £500 on my season ticket, to watch what has been abysmal for large parts of this season.

I agree its been a remarkable away season, but at home, its been very disappointing and the fans deserve more.

If we can keep this squad together with Roy in charge and with a couple of decent additions in the summer then we will be pushing for europa league spot next year.

Great season away - pretty abysmal one at home.
Get the later resolved - and we will have a really good 19/20 season.
Top ten, 60+ points, cup run - skies the limit - roll on August!

Overall it's been good.

We've stayed up comfortably, and had a couple of brilliant wins.

I don't even generally mind football that is more functional than flashy.

That doesn't mean people can't be disappointed by our home form, and how we've struggled to break down teams like Brighton, Cardiff and Huddersfield. It's a problem we've had for a few years, and it is something we need to try and improve.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

I wouldn't say it's been '' remarkable '' but it's a fair reflection of where we deserve to be.

The poor home form has been a big disappointment, and I would have viewed the season more favourably had we have not lost all the games against Watford and Brighton.

Strange season really, great moments but maybe one of contrasts and unfulfilled potential?!
Brilliant away form with some huge wins vs Arsenal and Man City but then contrast that with sheer apathy and over caution at home.
We also bottled two games against our rivals losing both and did the same in the FA cup quarters with the weakest semi final line up of all time ahead of us. Huge opportunity wasted.

Contrast the players with some great individual moments but the connection with the fans evident in previous years lacking...

A hard season to interpret but something to build on
