I hope it's not the dreaded consortium.

Charlton may be sold yet again there are 3 groups interested two of them are fronted by people well known in football circles.

The problem with these types of consortium is that the front man is just that. The money men stay in the background it's not clear who they are or what their motivation is.

In the case of the current Charlton owners the front man fell out with the owner within weeks of taking over and was sacked. Now it turns out the owner probably never had the money either and was in act a front man for god knows who. The EFL are still investigating.

So it's rather like a onion you keep peeling away the layers.

If we are sold let's hope we have a proper owner.

My perception is that the EFL's due diligence process isn't fit for purpose.

Any prospective purchasers of Charlton need to commit to buying the stadium and training ground from Roland Duchatelet as he still owns them....sounds familiar...

It's easy to be critical of the current ownership, but the stability provided since the 2010 takeover has been highly instrumental in the success of the club for the past decade. Indeed, the off field dynamics is always critical - so many clubs, including Palace, have fallen fowl to risky ownership structures and everything that follows from that. Just think back to Mark Godberg and the ownership of the ground being separate.
If any of this speculation proves to be true, I certainly hope its a small group of people who have control, its clear who is running things day by day and any transition from Parish etc is only done with the best interests of the club in mind. Given how he has behaved these past 10 years and his knowledge of the history, I would be optimistic this would be uppermost in his mind.

Agreed.

It's not only the due diligence rumour has it that the EFL only found out Charlton had been sold after it had happened.

In Germany that cannot happen the Bundesliga holds a golden share in each club so no takeover can happen until the authorities are satisfied all criteria has been met.

Being reported that Harris and Blitzer and sizing up a .6 BILLION bid to buy the NY Mets (baseball). Probably speaks volumes about what happens next to our own ownership. Discuss...

1. They're clearly not short of a bob or two.
2. They have no interest in investing said bob or two in CPFC.

The Mets will require a lot of investment to turn them into a financially healthy franchise. Currently operate off yearly losses spanning tens or millions of dollars, and I believe they don't own their own stadium (where have I heard that before?!)

If this happens, also running in parallel to it would be the 76ers (Harris and Blitzer's NBA team) paying several hefty contracts for players like Embiid, Simmons and Harris as they compete near the top of the Eastern Conference.

I do wonder when the money is going to be spent on Palace.
