Yesterday's "Observer" carried an item in which they had asked a fans' representative from each Premiership club a list of questions, including "Worst away fans". The response from Brighton: "No contest. Palace again." The response from Liverpool: "Crystal Palace never stopped singing about and supporting their team the whole match - brilliant."

The expected response from Brighton which has nothing to do with actual support during the match and all to do with all the other stuff that goes on , inside and outside the stadium.

One response from one fan at each club isn't worth a (Danny) light. Typical nonsense from such a rag as The Observer.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Quite simply because we embarrass them every time showing them EXACTLY how a team should be supported...and clap with our hands.

I think Palace are generally quite liked by the media and other clubs. We don't have a bad element amongst our fans generally (unlike Millwall!), and in fact quite a few Chelsea fans i know regard us as their 'second club' - probably because we are not perceived as a threat!!! but there is genuine affection. Plus we do overall have a reasonable top flight history, so we are not seen as 'gatecrashers' by the elite snobs!!! although that snobbery should not be put on anyone

But I largely share your opinion of that newspaper.

Well I didn't expect to see this comment in print from a Brighton fan, "I didn’t expect Fortress Amex to collapse, nor that I’d become a Palace fan, but I’ll love them for ever after they sent Cardiff down."
"Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt." |
