I don’t think Cahill was our first or second choice for this position, for the reasons mentioned, but this near the end of the window, I can see the logic, and with careful handling, it might work. But we will still have a gap for the first few matches against top 6 opposition as Cahill won’t be ready, Sakho and Tomkins aren’t fit, and Kelly and Dann don’t seem in good form

Nope, didn't see it. Was he that poor? He looked terrible against Bristol City but he is unfit and Cahill is likely to be too without a preseason.

For 75k a week I just don't think Cahill is a wise move.

Sakho and Dann need 3-4 weeks I reckon which ain't good. Not sure about Tomkins. Kelly is good backup whilst Kouyate could drop in albeit not his best position and what about Riedwald? Could it be his chance?

Anyway, with the likes of Mangala going on a free I'd be more happy with that.
