I think some of the first jobs that can trimmed down by automation can be that of MPs.

Our political class is far too large and in the world of video conferencing and streaming why are we paying all this money to locate them all in two buildings in London?

Antiquated.....in fact the whole political system is an antiquated elitist game.

If you are going to automate the blue and white collar jobs then they can make sure they don't forget to automate their arses as well.

Less jobs for humans yup.

I agree with the MPs, you cannot stop progress you can mould it. This is another example of industry and government not investing in our economy.

Business has avoided investment by hiring cheap labour from the EU.

If we don't embrace the new technologies we will have another period of "sick man of Europe" followed by a slash and burn "Thatcher".

For anyone that hasn't watched the wonderful mickey take of Star Trek called The Orville there was a wonderful episode where The Orville landed on a planet where all of the inhabitants wore badges with a thumbs up and thumbs down (a la Facebook) and they just voted yes or no to all proposed legislation.

It's a great idea for many reasons

The House of Commons should be about 300-400 MPs the House of Representatives has fewer and look at the size of the USA.
