Jedi would 100% make a great addition to the coaching staff but defo not ready for the #1 job yet.

Got a sneaky suspicion the club are lining up Derry as Roy's replacement

At the moment we have one of the most experienced managers in world football. A man who has dedicated his life to studying the game, learning five languages, testing himself at every level of football across decades and continents.

So of course his replacement should be someone who happened to play for Palace at one time.

He's a leader, he loves the club and was a midfield monster. He's a great person for anyone to learn their footballing trade from

Captain and coach are not the same job.

Yes,at the moment, and we should savour that- it's a sign of great experience and managerial skill what he is doing with the resources he has right now, unless we get rid of the Americans and get some fresh impetus at board room level, that is what its going to be in the medium term.

Roy is determined to have a crack at it this season, and no doubt send a message to the smt.

Now is a great time to get an aspiring young coach in, so he can learn from the wise old owl.

It's hard for a club of our size to start looking for a new manager when we won't know if we are going to avoid relegation or not for another few months. The sort of manager who could get us back up is probably different from one that could possibly push on from another good season in the PL. It also depends on how the club they are at does.

Marcelo Bielsa could be a possibility if he fails to win promotion with Dirty Leeds and Frank Lampard could do ok at Chelsea and still be sacked.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Yes, to be fair, grooming someone to replace Hodgson is a good idea and something I can imagine Roy being open to.

But managerial appointments never seem to be done this way, probably because nothing is long term anymore especially at Palace.

Again who is out there?

Mourinho- if he was brave enough- it could really invigorate him, but realistically who is out there.??

Being a leader on the pitch is completely different from being a decent coach. Sean Derry was all of the three things that you mentioned but failed as a coach / manager as did Gary Neville and Roy Keane
