The Trust are having their AGM on 27th November at 7pm in Speroni's at the club. Roy Hodgson has kindly agreed to be the guest speaker and to do a Question and Answer session.

This will be up first and the Trust has opened this up to everyone who wants to come along and hear Roy and ask questions. This is a great opportunity to engage with Roy in person and I hope that people will come along. Questions are not pre-vetted or scripted and anyone from the audience will have a chance to ask questions although we would expect people to keep it polite.

If you are intending to turn up please email us so we can get an idea of numbers here

cpstrustagm@hotmail.com

And people are welcome to stay for the AGM as well of course.

The club are also opening the bar before and during the meeting

Are you telling the world that you are expecting twins?

Just encouraging people to come to the Q&A with Roy - there has been a reasonable amount of interest but good to see as many people there as possible.

The club were filming it but not sure when or where it will appear. Roy was really good - was happy to answer questions in depth and you really understood his thinking.

highlights - feeling invigorated by job - is aware of age but will carry on while he feels he is able to give it the attention he deserves.

He feels that he could not really comment on Wickham having never really seen him play to full ability. Feels that if he is fit he would be best out on loan to recover match fitnesses.

He considers players are often under-rated by the press and even fans. The players are a really willing and whole hearted bunch that are a pleasure to coach - and either he is the world best actor or he really means that.

He realises that an aging squad is not ideal and need to address that as you cannot keep hiring Gary Cahill type players - it works for a while but is not long term

His first match watching Palace was when he was about 7 back in the mid fifties - he can't remember who we played though!

The club have to work within their means - there is no sugar daddy.

He commented that sometimes the longer a player is not in the squad the better he seems to become in some peoples eyes.

He is very happy with Centre Back position but would like a new forward. right back position is not good with injury to Joel Ward - look for Martin Kelly there next match

There was a lot more but often not things that could be put down in little sound bites.

Thanks useful information I agree with his point about the longer a player is out of the first team the better they get. We've seen this many times with England players.

Did anyone ask how much he is involved in choice of new players and how it works with Freedman?
Seems little point in bringing in 3 new players in January if Roy isn’t going to play them.

I think we can all safely say, we'll never see Wickham start in a Palace shirt again after that comment and recent times.

I think there is more to this Wickham story.
Maybe the club are hiding something.
The whole thing doesn't make any sense.
Why extend his contract if the current manager doesn't fancy him and would send him out on loan when he's fit.
Doesn't add up?

Excellent summary, thanks for that, interesting for those that couldn't make it.

I don't know but suspect that it is a way to try and get some money for him if he plays well on loan rather than letting him go for free. It's a gamble, obviously.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
