A friend of mine, (proper WH nutcase) often used to tell me of an evening he spent in some hotel bar somewhere where he unexpectedly got chatting to Martin Peters & MP spent maybe 30 minutes talking to him, with my mate quite often repeating himself about what a genuinely nice guy MP was.

My sister had a bit of a thing about him. She wrote to him asking for his autograph and he wrote a really nice letter back with a signed copy of his autobiography. A proper gent, by all accounts.
