There’s a poll on the other forum as to whether Roy should stay or go.
It’s currently running at 210 in favour of him going and 100 in favour of him staying.
Not sure how representative this is of the entire fanbase as I thought more would be in his favour.
I suppose football fans (including me ) are a fickle bunch and if we win the next couple of games the results of the poll will reverse.

That's natural.
I would like that to happen.
Maybe it is his plan to get another year.
Play great ,play good,play crap,play good,play great.
8th to 10th place happy days.

With the same players Roy has.

Cabaye. And the rest of them were mostly a few years younger. And he had Sakho relatively fit for a good run. And he didn't do materially better than Roy, playing some dross football in among the memorable moments.

The bottom line is Allardyce needed 30 mill spending and got it. Roy needs that and didn't.

Only argument I would have is for Townsend to start in front of Ayew but then I also understand that Townsend is the only explosive substitution we have available to us right now. Tosun and Benteke haven't both been available for selection at the same time yet so we don't know what will happen there. And do you honestly think that our season will depend upon Pierrick and Meyer? Meyer is a good player, just maybe hasn't adjusted too well and Pierrick is way short of Premier League quality yet.

At the end of the day, Roy see's these players in training day in, day out, he see's the attitude from every single player and then makes an informed decision from the vast footballing knowledge and experience he has to make the best team for each game. It's ludicrous for any of us to assume we know more about football and the current Palace team then him.
There is no benefit for Roy to not pick the best team he has available to him every single Saturday, so why would he purposely pick a sub-standard team?

Agree 100%

Did the three of you predict our clubs best ever run in the top-flight?

At what cost? If we went down in April, which as stats show, is a Real possibility, what do we have to show for it?

Not true. It's very roughly that proportion that think he should go now (although I doubt the absolute numbers are that high), but far, far more just said "no". Which does not mean they think he should go in the summer.

And who has been the biggest beneficiary of that if not Parish whose original stake of a couple of million is now worth many times that

I’m not in the habit of making things up .
If you go on the forums you will see the relevant figures on the poll which now stands at,
153 think Hodgson should go in the summer (roughly 45%)
59 think he should go now( roughly 17%).
This means that around 62% of those responding think he should not be manager next season.
The heading of this thread is whether Roy should stay or go so it seemed relevant, if not particularly scientific, to include the results of the poll.

Roy inherited all those players so had a much better squad to start from (with a much higher wage bill)

He also had Reidewald, Camarasa, Mayer, and TFM who he simply refused to play.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I’m pretty sure you are not referring to me although I was definitely of that mindset.

A couple of years ago a mate introduced me to one of his friends who just happens to be one of Parish’s best mates. He rarely talks about what’s going on behind the scenes at Palace , but I did get a flavour for just how difficult it is to run CPFC. And that in turn softened my sentiments somewhat.

However one thing that has been brought to SP’s attention by his friends is his constant appoint of former players into roles that they aren’t necessarily qualified for.

When all is said and done, Parish can point to stating in the Premier League as a major success. But the day that bubble bursts , and it’s coming, how the club recovers from that is a real concern
