Villa playing in a way that we simply couldn't. Worrying.

Ohohoho a f***ing sickening goal to concede for Villa at the death there. Relief for us! That'll really dampen their spirits.

There are times to be open. drawing with spurs, a minute to go with Son capable of counter attacking isn’t one of them. A valuable point dropped for them.

Asked for comments, Roy would say the Villa lads worked really hard, unfortunate to concede in such an unlucky way, a draw would have been a fair result.

Two wonderful results so far this weekend, with both Southampton and Villa losing.
Just Newcastle to lose and it will be excellent.

Don't be so pragmatic - this thread's all about slagging off Roy !

The Villa v Spurs was an entertaining game with both teams creating chances - Roy’s worst nightmare!
Apologies to those under 50 but I recall a TV pundit debate between two managers many years ago at half time when England played Germany.
The left sided English forward, Graham Rix, spent the whole of the first half defending against the German right back, Manny Kaltz.
During the debate Don Howe was fulll of praise for Rix and how he was working so hard to defend against Kaltz.
The other manager in the debate, Jack Charlton, was totally dismissive of this argument and said it should be the other way round with Kaltz as full back having to defend against Rix.
He wanted England to make the opposition defence turn towards their own goal and thought Kaltz couldn’t be a threat if he was stationed in his own half.
I think Hodgson is very much of the Don Howe school and unfortunately Zaha and Townsend have lost their way this season spending most of the time concerned with defending against opposition full backs rather than attacking the opposition goal.
The result is that Zaha has 3 or 4 goals this season and Townsend 1 goal.
They also have very few assists and we have not received the anticipated VAR penalty bonanza as Zaha rarely gets into the penalty area.

Considering they are in big trouble, Villa looked very strong.
