Does any one know why he doesnt play in the Europa Cup?
I dont look for their results but I look for how hes doing..... but he never plays in Europe, or has he?
Or was there some contract details in his transfer that if he plays in Europe, Palace get more cash??

Any one know??

I have seen a fair bit of AWB during lockdown. Tonight in the FA Cup he hasn’t looked any better than Clyne or Ward. He certainly doesn’t look like a player worth 50 million. He still retains that elasticity in the tackle but can’t pass and offensively may deliver 1 good cross in 10.
Obviously the lad came up through our youth set up so I wish him every success but I really do think it was a tremendous piece of business when he was sold. Shame the cash hasn’t really made its way to regenerating the squad ....only to balance the books.

I watched the Everton v Utd game and was very underwhelmed by him. In fact I think his positioning seems to have gone all over the place since he moved there.

he has contributed to getting ManUre to second in the Prem table.

its a good advert for young palace players....stay with Palace and don't do a Bostock. When you are good enough for the top 4 ....join their first team and not their youth academy.

the 'Net-We-had' at the Etihad....again

The problem with Awb is in my opinion, I think he's a great defender, for M.Utd and the big clubs, you now need to be a winger and have a high assist rate.

That's the reason why Southgate hasn't selected him, and also why M. Utd are looking for a back up, who's got more of an attacking presence.

I'm sure they are working on him every day, about getting forward and creating, recently scored his first goal for them.

From a personal perspective I wouldn't bestow "Greatness" on him in terms of his overall defending.I would assert that he is a very capable one-on-one defender and a good tackler but sometimes his positioning is not the best.

He does go to ground quite frequently and it has been opined that this suggests that he doesn't read situations or the game well enough although I suspect this will improve with experience.

He does need to improve offensively and Man Utd have been working on this aspect of his game.

I think greatness is a stronger word than great, I mean they played £50 million for him, so I don't think as a defender he is average.

Still young and his rise has been rapid, but to be the modern fullback you've got to create, which I can imagine when you are a defender, can be quite daunting, for scared of losing the ball and being caught out of position.

I have a feeling AWB started out as a winger so it is quite interesting how he's stronger at defending than attacking. I could be wrong, just a vague memory.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
