It’s a good job for Kanu that he didn’t have to deal with this. His feet were so big he’d have been offside if he was standing behind the defender.

And let’s know forget Alex Kolinko.

His nose would have been offside whilst playing in goal for us.

The frustrating thing is that we have raised our game against two teams who have the ability to beat us with a few moments of quality, but have failed to do so against Burnley and Villa. Roy actually deployed the tactics I suggested (albeit with different personnel) so he can send the thank you to the usual address for what was a hugely improved performance If we play like that against Wolves and Spurs we have a chance and even if we don't get any points at least we can hold our heads up.

Dion Dublin would’ve been in trouble too. Allegedly.

Subject to whom he was thinking about at the time, presumably?

Cant recall the game, but Ayew played left back towards end of one match last season

Townsend could play left back as well. Doesn’t make him a left back

How many subs did we have left to use?
How many did he use?
3 why not send the young lads on for the last five mins
But I think Roy turned round to the bench and saw no one there...
Roy they sit in the stands......

So we huffed and we puffed but we didnt blow any houses down.
Good to see Roy annoyed.. but time to get some tactics/players that can score.

And yet again in this match and every match, we are useless and perhaps dont train for them "Throw ons". we have a throw on in line with their penalty box but two seconds later either the other team are on the attack or we have passed to our keeper. Frustrates the hell out of me, we cant do the basics....

Mitchell looked pretty comfortable during his cameo.
A bit awb type but on the opposite side.
Also pushed up and got back ok. Maybe we do have a little more talent than roy feels we have.

Serious question:
The game carried on when they were checking VAR for the penalty during which time manc utd scored. If the penalty had been given, would their goal be chalked off? Could this be the main reason why they did not give the penalty to avoid embarrasment?

I thought the same at the time but wasn’t sure what the rules are. I can’t remember whether there was a break in play at all between the penalty shout and their goal.

The whole VAR thing has ruined the flow of the game and made it almost impossible to celebrate a goal properly. The only thing it has really proven is that many still get the decisions hopelessly wrong after several replays and are clearly not fit to do the job..

Yep, it happened earlier in the season. Bournmouth v Burnley(?) Player shoulder balled it in own area, team went up the other end and scored. Chalked off and penalty given to Burnley.

I believe the goal could have been chalked off, a similar situation occurred in the Bundesliga and the goal was disallowed. From what I heard this morning on the radio, there is some suggestion VAR did not even look at it. If so I would like to know the reasoning.
Even those pundits who thought it wasn’t a pen have been surprised how little time was spent on it.
FWIW my opinion is Lindelof clearly hit the back of Wilf’s leg first, not sure he touched the ball at all. Clear foul but Wilf was wearing wrong colour shirt.
I feel there is some truth in the theories that powers that be want CL race/relegation race to go to final game, as league already wrapped up. Makes me fall out of love with football this
