We currently have five centre backs (Tomkins, Dann, Sakho, Cahill and Kelly) and all have done quite well when they have been called upon. Due to injuries, we haven’t really seen a long term centre back partnership. Who would you pick as your two centre backs?

Personally I would go for Cahill and Tomkins with Cahill and Kelly as second choice

Tompkins and Cahill first choice. Dann and Kelly as back up. Kouyate can drop in if there is an emergency.

Sakho would be on par with Cahill and Tompkins if he wasn't full of clangers. But he is. And he is on a ridiculous salary. Offload if we can.

Cahill Tomkins, Kelly first choice replacement. Offload Sakho now.

Is the correct answer.

Best two would be Sakho and Tompkins but as we already know they will be injured for most of next season :-( Cahill has to be 3rd choice but not sure if he can play week in, week out? Dann is good and better than Kelly but I’d also getting on. Then we have kouyate who isn’t that bad as well. Perhaps better than Dann and Kelly?

Cahill probably reads the game better than any of the others. However, it is increasingly evident than none of them can play week in week out without getting injured. Should we look to try and get Cahill, Tomkins and Kelly rotating (any two of the three)?
I, too, would send Sakho off to Lyons for the £5 million they were apparently willing to pay - that would also knock about £5 million off the wage bill.
Finally, Kouyate can and has played CB and looks ok. I would keep Dann by the way.
