Scrap all honours if you don't whatever reforms you put in they will find a way round it.

I just noticed that previously Jenni Murray got a Dame hood for services to broadcasting err you mean she got rewarded for doing her job. I don't know the woman and she is probably good at her job but that is not the point most people do their job.

It's one big gravy train for the politicians, the party donors, the luvies and the civil servants but don't forget to give the odd cleaner an MBE just to keep the proles happy.

One more point

Tbh how does it really affect any of us. Forget the dough because the amount thrown around recently makes this like a piss in a swimming pool.

There are now 800 peers who are eligible to sit in the House Of Lords the US senate has 100.

It's not just the cost to the taxpayer many of the Lords are politicians who were kicked out by the voters so just when you thought you had seen the back of them they pop up again.

Then there are people like the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Chief Rabbi and leaders from others faiths. If they want to mix politics and religion they should stand for Parliament no other democracy allows this nonsense.

We should have an elected upper chamber with fixed numbers probably around 300. They should be based on regions to ensure that all parts of the UK are represented fairly and voted for using PR.

It's time to end the gravy train.
