The Army has sold off shed loads of their camps there & a huge new build by different company's has been & is going on. The infrastructure is poor & the amenities are even worse, oh, and its still a garrison town.

Aldershot has improved massively since the decline of "armed forces weekend". Cheapish housing, good transport links, and lots to do within easy reach.
Most places have 5hlt areas, and Aldershot is no different from anywhere else.

That's a conundrum ^^^

My sister went out with 3 squaddies. The first was a c-unit, who i eventually had to go to his workplace and front him up, with his boss there. 2 years later he became a police officer. WTF ?
The second was a paratrooper who i did a skydive with, and was a great bloke.
The third was a serial liar, who married my sister and then took out loans secured on my mother's house. It tranpires he had other women and children, and when the Falklands kicked-off, he shot himself in the foot rather than go and fight.

A policeman school friend of mine lives in Aldershot with his teenage daughter. It's not a fantastic place, but he manages fine.

Aldershot or otherwise known as Nepaldershot as for the very large Nepalese community. They are generally friendly and don’t cause any problems. The town centre is a dump, more boarded up or closed shops than open ones.
I agree with previous poster, try Ash/Ash Vale, Woking, Camberley, Farnham a definite upgrade on Alders***.

In dog beers I’ve only had one.
