I wondered if we should have used Speroni as a South America scout. Guess it's a moot point now.

What a terrific idea, a native speaker given South American scouting duties.

Nahh, too difficult for us to pull off something sensible like that. Bet he would have jumped at the chance too.

I'm not being funny but it's easy to make it look as though one player is better than the other when you're openly altering their stats based on how difficult you perceive the leagues to be.

I don't know much about Leao, I'm sure he's great. The reality though is that Watkins scored once every 171 minutes this season, Leao scored once every 246. You might believe Serie A to be a far higher standard than the Championship but I would wager if you totted up the total Premier League signings from both divisions over the years, there would be a similar rate of success stories between the two.

As a closing point, to say 'and the price difference is just £8 million' shows a distinct lack of understanding about how Palace operate in the transfer market. If a few million quid here and there made no difference then we'd already have signed Eze.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

@CanterburyPalace

I have always counted goals or assists from the top 5 leagues as counting the same (even from the French league, even though it's poorer, it's more difficult to score in).

Then I multiply with 1.25 the minutes for goals scored in Portugal, Russia or Turkey and with 1.5 the minutes for goals scored in second tiers of the strong leagues, medium European leagues or national U21 level. It's pretty much thr same.

Sure, one could say that the Championship is above medium European leagues like the Scottish or Polish leagues, but this has only happened recently, with the investments of the last 2-3 years and the bringing of top players. Today, yes, one could argue that the Championship is at Portuguese level. The second tiers of Spain, Italy, Germany and France however have not had these investments and continue at pretty much the same level as a medium championship from Europe (Greece, Ukraine-post war, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Scotland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Israel)

I multiply with 2 the minutes from which one player scores in the Netherlands, cause there it's different, they score easier.

Milan will never sell. They consider him a big investment for future with the club hoping he’s the new Ronaldo (Brazilian one).
Zlatan will play less next season and they are bringing in new wingers. Leao will get his chance then.
Nice idea. Will never happen.

I knew differently. You're right that he's a great player, but apparently Milan doesn't have the patience. We'll see if he goes. If he does for just 25 million to a mid-table team, then I was right.

With respect I think you’re wrong. Unless you have a direct contact with Milan? My cousins say the fans love him too and can see his huge potential and does Pioli too

Great player with huge potential. It does look to me that Milan will keep him. If he did come to the PL I would have thought it would be a top 4 team who would be prepared to spend big?

Do you mean it's too little? From what I read it's the release clause. Now it's just a question of salary bidding. But his price will be 18 million. Brentford can't ask for more.

Have a look at these articles:

[Link]

Atletico Madrid offers 12 million for him and right back Santiago Arias, valued also at 12 million. I think AC Milan would prefer the 24 million alltogether than like this.

[Link]

Milan contemplating what to do with him- keep or sell.- from few days ago.

[Link]

Possibility of leaving or being used in a transaction with Fiorentina for Milenkovic- 6/10.

You’re using some seriously obscure websites to make a point here.
I can 100% guarantee we (Palace) will not buy him.
I can 80% guarantee he will not leave Milan. The only way he will leave is if we (Milan fan also) get a stupid offer for him.

A stupid offer will certainly come from Palace. - £2m!
