Roy said he is still in rehab and not training with the squad yet. He'll get there, but I wouldn't expect him to be our starting right back at the start of the season.

Ward is exposed at this level in the PL at this stage of his career and is targeted by other teams who recognise the weakness, yet we go out and purchase an injured right-back who hasn't played since January! But I suppose he will prove to be cheap in PL terms!

I'd go for Maitland-Niles. A structured and add ons deal of 20m would do it then he can fill in a RB until Ferguson is ready to be the world beater that we know he is. AMN can then play in his favoured CM position thus providing us with a bit more dynamism through the middle. I'd be more comfortable spending money here than I would lets say on a striker from overseas. Edited by samprior (26 Aug 2020 2.33pm)

I think he's off to Wolves. Indeed. In actual fact,Maitland-Niles sees himself as a midfielder and wants to play in midfield, although he has played at right-back for Arsenal.
