A season where Bolasie was out injured all year with an ACL. Benteke has has one good season since the move. Bolasie has dissapeared.

I think he'd fit a 4-4-2 with Ayew playing off him, and would like to see him in a 4-2-3-1 with Zaha, Townsend and Eze with Eze playing in the role Puncheon used to play. Luka and Reidewald in midfield.

Unfortunately Bolasie took the Everton bait and like most of the player they purchase ‘almost’ never live up to any real top billing.

I think he’s still there ? Maybe loaned out last season .. a real waste of talent

Well...I am THINKKKKKKING.......

We've needed a quality striker for the last 2 seasons

I was in agreement with retaining faith in the guy in the belief that his confidence would return. That has shown no sigh of happening. In fact a block of concrete would have scored more goals than him by deflections.

The only doubt that troubles me is that he often scores for Belgium.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Get rid his only here to take the money and the end of the season I think his out of contract was stupid of the board to renew it in the first place

What I do not get is that so many here are willing to give Benteke the benefit of considerable doubt and give him every chance (three years) to find his form yet Sorloth has been repeatedly slagged off as useless without ever been given a solid run to acclimatise to the PL.

Centre forward with Palace is a can of worms since Murray & Gayle left.

If we lose him, don't get another and stay with Benteke then the Championship looms.

Agree Sakho can go

His general link up and hold up play is very good. The goals have dried up but you can see there is a player there, and he may rediscover this. I would see how this season goes and if it’s not to standard then he is free to leave at the expiration of his contract. I think Sakho is the player we should look to sell ASAP considering he isn’t a starter and commands a hefty wage.

Clearly you did not see the game, the incident happened on the pitch, there was no scuffle just Benteke being an idiot.

where does the giving away 7.8M come from?

Luckily they are not running the club, who in their right mind would consider giving away £7.8m.

I thought Benteke broke his foot in the Villa tunnel in a skirmish, which earned him a red card. If that is the case, should he be paid his full wages, if he has made himself unavailable to play.

Bolasie was seriously injured a few months after signing for Everton, he was out injured for a year and never the same after.

In the short term, we have only two albeit injured strikers. Even if we got a decent up and coming striker in, he'd be good off the bench. If only for his hold up play... hang on... but on those wages? £100k a week assumed.

In the long term, we need better options i.e. a complete overhaul of our strikers. That is no secret.

As for the money, yeah Benteke's goals in the first season kept us up and all the finanacial rewards that go with it. Down the road, I hope we can say, despite him scoring only 6 goals in 3 seasons on balance he was value for money. Moreover, with contract extensions, we more than repaid our debt to the misfiring striker.

I do kinda feel sorry for him. If his head was sorted out he'd be a 15 goal a season guy. I just dont see it happening at Palace.

That's all.

As the tea maker maybe but as a striker no!
